I promise I'm still trying to work on FY but I have to make some stuff for fair so yeah that has to come first
Anyway! So I've been thinking about all my fandoms lately and I was thinking about how they're all my favorite stories, and then I wondered what some of my top ones were. These aren't necessarily novels -- I'm talking stories told through any kind of media, whether that be anime, cartoons, tv shows, webcomics, books, etc.!
I thought I'd share them with you guys to spread the love around and maybe find you guys a new thing to enjoy!
Here are mine, in no particular order.
Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood -- Manga/Anime. UGH I LOVE THIS SHOW/MANGA SO MUCH! The original manga version, that is, and the Brotherhood anime. I like the first anime just fine but not nearly as much as Brotherhood. Basically, FMA has such a complex plot with this huge cast of characters and every one of them is important and there are so many little subplots that all just pull together and the whole world and its alchemy are just great and honestly I don't think I can think of a single thing that I DON'T like about FMA.
The Last of Us -- Videogame. The Last of Us came out this year and got amazingly high ratings. Some people and critics have called it one of the best games of ALL TIME, and I can definitely see why. Saying that it's the absolute best zombie apocalypse story I've ever heard isn't much coming from me, since it's the only zombie story I've gotten into, but the character development and plot twists are just INCREDIBLE and gosh dangit it's been such a huge inspiration to me, I've actually thought up a plot for my own 'zombie story' of sorts and am plotting it in my head, so yeah n_n'' The Last of Us is amazing asdfghjkl; and some awesome person even made a "movie" version on Youtube that cuts out most of the gameplay but leaves in all of the plot, so you can enjoy the story without playing the game. There are several 'movie' versions but this one cuts out the least and gets all the dialogue that you hear during gameplay, so yeah.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica -- Anime. I mainly love this one because it's such an incredible deconstruction of the magical girl genre! It starts out typical, but by episode 3 you quickly learn that this magical girl story is a lot different than most and has a great twist at every turn. Some people called the ending a cop-out but I think it's beautiful and perfect and asdfghjkl; I highly recommend it
To Kill a Mockingbird -- Novel. This one's famous, you should know it! I read To Kill a Mockingbird in eighth grade and it was just really really great argh it was the only novel Harper Lee wrote and it was a dang good one. The way it covers prejudice/racism and everything is just...idk I don't really know how to describe it other than saying Atticus Finch is one of my favorite characters ever and I love the old movie and it's a book everyone should read.
Unsounded -- Webcomic. I follow a lot of webcomics, but my favorite is Unsounded. Unsounded is not only beautifully illustrated and amazingly written but it also has a great plot brewing and colorful characters! The best part about Unsounded is that it updates 3 TIMES WEEKLY (do you know how awesome that is??) with a month hiatus in between chapters. The characters are really memorable and unique and despite its dark plot the humor is enough to keep you hooked and wanna keep reading!!
Star Trek: Into Darkness -- Movie. ARGH I AM A MAJOR STAR TREK FAN WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY I LOVE IT SO MUCH BUT EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT I THINK YOU CAN ENJOY INTO DARKNESS!! Some people like this movie more than others but I happened to love it because of it's dynamic plot and more character development and a few shoutouts to the fans with certain references and it's just all around a great movie and probably my favorite film of all time.
Supernatural -- TV show. I can't even begin to express how much I love this show. The creative takes on monsters, angels, and demons, as well as our main characters Sam and Dean's bond, and the humor, and the awesome side characters, and just EVERYTHING is great about Supernatural if you can handle some blood and gore. It's going into its ninth season, probably because it's so popular!
Sherlock -- TV show (BBC). UGH I LOVE THIS SHOW A LOT TOO. Though only six episodes long (with another three on the way this fall), Sherlock does not disappoint. It's a modern take on the classic Sherlock stories, but it's also so much more. It has clever dialogue, great action scenes, and really beautiful filmography.
Ghibli Movies. Ack sorry I just categorized these all into one but the Ghibli movies are all so beautiful and I think the thing I love most about them is that there isn't usually a good or an evil, but more like restoring balance to both, and gosh dangit they're just beautiful, touching movies go watch them all
Psycho-pass -- Anime honestly I think I should have only made a top 9 because all my favorites are done aha but fine here's this one it's more like a bonus round than anything...anyway, psycho-pass was great because it combined all my favorite things -- crime drama, pyschology, plot twists, action, glowy blue stuff...it was great, and it really opened one's eyes to the danger of an overly automated society. The character development was a little weak but the plot made up for it. You can watch it on the hulu website so go check it out!
ANYWAY, just thought I'd post that for fun! What are some of YOUR favorite stories, from any kind of media?

Just Checking In
So I've ~officially~ moved into my new account, which means I won't be coming on this one much anymore! I mean, I've already been pretty inactive on this one now, but I feel pretty settled into my new one to the point where I don't need to come on here anymore. I just have to make sure I re-subscribe to my favorite deviants that I'm watching here (gotta stay up to date with my favorite dA webcomics haha) and a few other things and then I'll probably just leave this account and journal here!
If anyone needs to get in touch with me and you don't have my new account still send me a note here! I'll try to log in occasionally to check on stuff li
*important* NEW ACCOUNT
HEY GUYS
So I finally did it -- I decided to make a new deviantart account! Those of you who already follow me on my irl accounts (or at least my tumblr) will already know that I've been posting more original art (though also plenty of fanart) and that I just decided to make an account where I can compile it all in once place. I wanted a fresh start from this older account, particularly since I've had it since I was very young when I went through all kinds of embarrassing phases (weeaboo stage, anyone?) so I want my new account to be a place where I can create a more professional image for myself as I move into more creative industries where
The future of this account (and me)
first of all HI FRIENDS I'M STILL ALIVE
this account, however, is basically dead! Which makes me a bit sad to say, but I mean I barely upload anymore. I still check it daily, but my uploads have all but ceased, leading me to wonder what I should do with this account.
Lately I've been focusing a lot more on original work -- writing, drawing, and acting. Last semester I applied for internships at Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and actually got some interviews, and while it ultimately didn't end up working out this time around (gonna try again next year for sure!) it got me thinking about my future and what I want to do after I graduate colle
Spring break! aka another 'im alive' journal
HI I'M STILL ALIVE and it's spring break!! I've been busy catching up on work but also been trying to work on creative projects in my downtime. One of those being my Piper story. I recently got some ideas for it and it's taking a different direction than I initially anticipated but I think it'll be good for the story! I was too attachd to my old ideas so I wasn't making any progress but once I let those ideas go I started making progress so idk the moral of the story is don't be afraid to change aspects of the stories you're stuck on
On that note I'm getting into Pokemon Ranger again ;u; I've never NOT been into it but it's definitely been o

I've been planning to watch a play through of The Last of Us, I'm really interested :3
Some of my favorite stories in media are...
Fire Emblem Awakening. I know I've already gone through why you should get this game but I just love its plot. So many crazy twists! >w< The game also has great dialogue and unforgettable characters <3
Ib is one of the greatest RPG Maker games EVER. It's so interesting and though it only has three characters, they are all wonderful in their own way <3 And the atmosphere is so creepy xD
Not necessarily a game or a novel, or even a tv show, but a lot of Vocaloid songs have great stories intertwined into the songs. Sometimes you may have to watch a PV in order to understand though XD My personal favorite is the Story of Evil, it's pretty well known but I can totally see why! It's a 'series' of songs that are 4-5 songs long( it's kinda debatable) and they're all really beautiful ;w; (and have made me cry xD) The songs are in a specific order as well, there's Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Message of Regret, Re_birthday, and Daughter of White. I definitely recommend listening to them, even if you might not be a Vocaloid fan <w>
